January 2005. It was my daughters first day at a new dojo and I litereally had to pull her by the arm out of the car to try just one class. That was a year and a half ago and what a difference. When she first started Liberty 's she was a shy girl who hated to hit anyone let alone spar with them and actually have to hit them. To look back now it is quite funny to remember where she was. But with help from Sensei Jeff, Justin and the other Sensei's she has overcome her fear and now places in the top 3 in tournaments for sparring. Her self-confidence in herself and in doing everyday things has improved right along with her school grades. When looking for a new dojo I didnt want a military type of school where karate would feel like work and she would get discouraged easily. Liberty 's has a great mixture of disciplined training and fun excersises for kids and adults. I have noticed tremendous changes in my daughter in the last year since joining Liberty 's and I hope you and/or your child get the same benefits out of Liberty 's as my daughter has.
